Hi everyone,
Welcome to the 2026 Waveland Men’s League! We kick things off on May 6th and roll through late September—20 weeks with one goal: great golf and an even better group of guys.
We’ve received your requests for playing partners and preferred tee times, and we’ll send out an initial tee sheet in early May. It’s a starting point and will definitely evolve throughout the summer. With 20–30 players typically out each week, there’s plenty of flexibility to mix things up. I’d encourage you to jump into different time slots now and then—it’s a great way to meet more guys in the league. If you do switch it up, just check in with starter Jan. After a little good-natured abuse, she’ll get you out on the course.
League Website
This year, all weekly updates will be posted on our website: http://www.waveland.me You’ll find the tee sheet, weekly notes, and other resources there. One highlight this season will be a series of golf tips and lessons from Illinois Super Senior Golf Champion—and our own—Jim Kennedy.
Pace of Play
We’ve got a full league again this year, so pace of play is key. As always: “You don’t have to be good—you just can’t be slow.” Ready golf and a little friendly encouragement will go a long way in keeping things moving and enjoyable for everyone. As a reminder, there are no make-ups, and we rarely get rained out.
Games & Events
Weekly prizes (closest to the pin, longest putt, longest drive—for young, old, and “real old” guys); match play tournament; two-man scramble; occasional Happy Hours at our favorite spot, The Reservoir.
Extras
Your registration includes a shoe discount from ASIC (coupon coming in the first couple weeks—good for more than just golf shoes) and discounted parking returns this year at just $2.
I’m ready to go—and I know you are too. Let’s make it the best season yet.
See you on the course,
Curt

Notable #1: Lane Corday teed the ball up on #9 behind the markers to try to get a level surface. He swung and his ball hit the markers and ricocheted to land on the #1 green. Great shot Lane!!
Notable #2: On #2, Brian McCartan hit his second shot to 6ft from the pin. As he approached the green, his playing partner Ron Cain hit his sand shot like a shot in pool and it hit Brian's ball and knocked it into the hole! Regardless what anyone says, we'll give him a 2..an albatross!! Good teamwork.
Notable #3: Phil Connor drove the green on #6 and sank his 25 foot put for a birdie on his way to his best score - 91 at 91!!
Thanks again for your generous end of the season gift. I used a portion to play the Old Course at St. Andrews, Scotland. It was great. Curt and Caddy are pictured below.
